Lab Confirmed H1N1 in New York Dog. -- (Recombinomics)

 

....However, the close contact between infected patients and pets, including dogs and cats suggests such transmissions are quite common, and raise concerns that the number of species transmitting H1N1 is much higher than the small number of lab confirmed cases in domestic and wild cats, dogs, ferrets, pigs, and turkeys.  Although the above dog recovered, at least three pet cats have died, as have one or more ferrets......

The increasing number of species infected with lab confirmed H1N1 and the lack of testing of many obvious species, including livestock, continues to be cause for concern.
